EMMITSBURG, MD – The Rider men's track and field team closed out day one of the 2026 MAAC Outdoor Championships in third place on Saturday, highlighted by a bronze-medal finish in the pole vault and multiple Broncs advancing to Sunday's finals.
Raymond Senatore earned a bronze-medal finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.55m.
On the track,
Trey Cummings and
Julian Onesti each qualified for Sunday's 100m final, while Cummings also advanced to the 200m final.
Nathan Storz and
Max Weinberg both secured spots in the 110m hurdles final.
Matthew Richman advanced to the 400m final, while
Camryn Thomas,
Mamadi Diawara, and
Cortland Webb all qualified for the 400m hurdles final.
In distance action,
Ian Smith and
Will Portman each moved on to the 800m final, while
Ethan Peffley qualified for the 1500m final.

"We had a really good day 1. Lots of standout performances that earned us some points, or athletes that made finals. Momentum is a real thing and we did a good job of gaining momentum today. We just need to carry it forward on Sunday.
