EDWARDSVILLE, IL - Rider opened up Mid-American Conference action as they took down SIUE, 21-19, thanks to a tech fall from
Ethan Laird at 197.Â
Laird, who redshirted last season, was able to pick up his first dual win back at 197 as well as his first tech fall of 2022-23. Laird in four bouts this season is 4-0 with two major decisions and a tech fall.Â
Tyler Klinsky opened up the day with a major decision victory over Austin Macias of SIUe 18-6. Colton Washleski was also able to score a major decision win over Grant LaDuke, 10-2.Â
Rider took four of the first five bouts over SIUe taking a 14-4 lead in team scoring and were able to close things out with the bout at 197, which Laird was able to seal with the tech fall victory.
