Gibson, Urban Lead Men's Golf to 1st Place of 19 Teams After 1st Round at Bucknell Invitational

Gibson shoots one-under 69, Urban shoots even-par 70 to take spots in Top 4

LEWISBURG, PA – Zander Gibson (Concord, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) shot a one-under 69 and Jack Urban (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) shot an even-par 70 to lead the Rider University men's golf team to a tie for first place out of 19 teams following the first round of the Bucknell Invitational Sunday at Bucknell Golf Club. Gibson sits third on the individual leaderboard, two strokes back of co-leaders Blake Wisdom of Bucknell and Ryan Edholm of Canisius at three-under 67. Urban is tied for fourth.

Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) was next for the Broncs at three-over 73, while Rick van der Nat (Noordwijk, The Netherlands/Visser 't Hooft) and Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) both shot five-over 75 to round out the Broncs' scorers. Golfing as an individual, Michael McCrone (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) also shot 75.

- The Broncs are tied atop the team leaderboard with Robert Morris at 287 (+7), four strokes ahead of host Bucknell (291, +11, 3^rd).
- The Broncs are one of five MAAC schools in competition, joining Niagara (295, +15, T6th), Mount St. Mary's (295, +15, T6th), Canisius (296, +16, T8th) and Saint Peter's (305, +25, 17^th).
- Rider posted 56 par's, most of the tournament field. The Broncs' 13 birdies were second.
- Rider played the Par 3's (+5) and Par 4's (+5) to the second-best scores of the round.
- Gibson's -2 performance on the Par 3's was the best of the round.
- Urban played the Par 5's at -2, tied for the best score of the round with five other competitors.
