What You Need To Know
- The fourth-seeded Rider University women's soccer team plays host to fifth-seeded Canisius Sunday afternoon in the MAAC Championship Quarterfinals on ESPN+.
- The MAAC will charge admission to Sunday's game. Please visit the "Tickets" link above to purchase tickets in advance. The event will be cashless, with the ability to purchase tickets at the gate via credit or debit card. The first 100 Rider students with a valid ID will be admitted free. Seniors (65+), children ages 6 and under and students with a valid ID are $5, while all others are $10. Â Â
- The Broncs are making their 10
th-straight MAAC Championship appearance. Rider fell in the quarterfinals last season to top-seeded Monmouth after advancing to the semifinals with a win over Manhattan in the Spring 2021 quarterfinals.
- Rider has an 11-14-2 record in the MAAC Tournament since the program's first year in 1997.
- The Broncs clinched the No. 4 seed and a home quarterfinal contest with a 2-1 win over Siena on Oct. 26. After trailing, 1-0, at the half,
Makenzie Rodrigues scored in the 48

th minute to lead the Broncs to victory.
- Rider Head Coach
Drayson Hounsome collected his 200
th collegiate coaching win on Oct. 26 vs. Siena. After winning 85 games at C.W. Post from 2001-07, the last 115 have come since 2008 at Rider. Â
- With her goal, Rodrigues pulled into a tie for the team lead with five goals and 11 points, matching
Lindsey Maslow's marks. Barkey is third on the team with three goals – all scored in the last three games of the regular season. Â

Camryn Dees has added two goals and a team-high three assists for seven points, while
Logan Racine has also scored twice.
- For the season,
Ellie Sciancalepore has posted a 1.35 goals-against average and an .819 saves percentage with six shutouts.
- Canisius defeated Rider, 2-1, in the MAAC opener for both teams Sept. 17 in Buffalo. Jen Romero scored both goals for the Griffs in the 11
th and 85
th minutes.
Hannah Freeman equalized in the 76

- The Broncs and Griffs have met just once in the MAAC Championships – a 1-0 Canisius win in the 2010 semifinals in Baltimore. The game represented Rider Head Coach
Drayson Hounsome's first MAAC Tournament game in his third season with the Broncs, a year he earned won MAAC Coach of the Year.
- With the loss to Canisius on Sept. 17, the Broncs' lead in the all-time series was cut to 13-11-2. Rider had gone 4-0-1 in its last five against the Griffs, with Canisius last earning a victory in 2015. Canisius' last win in Lawrenceville came on Oct. 3, 2010.
- Canisius has been impressively stingy this season, holding the opposition to a 0.67 goals-against average. The Griffs have conceded multiple goals just twice this season and only once in MAAC play, a two-goal output from Fairfield on Oct. 15. Jordan Spencer served as the Griffs goalkeeper when Rider visited Canisius on Sept. 17. However, Jessica Jones entered to begin the second half against Niagara on Sept. 28 and played the remainder of the MAAC slate. Jones has a 0.53 goals-against average and an .833 saves percentage to Spencer's 0.82 GAA and .794 saves percentage.
- The Griffs have a remarkable nine ties this season in 18 games played. Five of the ties have been of the scoreless variety, while the other have been 1-1 draws.
- Tiani Fonoti leads Canisius with four goals and two assists this season. Emma Oliphant, Mia Iacona and Romero have added two goals apiece, with Oliphant (3) and Iacona (2) also dishing out multiple assists. Skylar Cornell has also contributed a goal and two assists. Â Â
- The Broncs clinched their 10
th-straight MAAC Championship berth with a 1-0 win at Marist on Oct. 22. Maslow finished
Ailis Martin's assist in the 64
th minute to give the Broncs the three points necessary to clinch.
- Sciancalepore was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 24 after allowing just one goal in a pair of wins at Mount St. Mary's and Marist. It was the second honor of the year for Sciancalepore and the third of her career. Sciancalepore now has a career-high six shutouts on the year.
- Barkey scored her first two goals as a Bronc in Rider's 2-1 win at Mount St. Mary's on Oct. 19.
- Following consecutive shutout victories over Saint Peter's and Manhattan, the Broncs fell in four-straight games to Iona, Fairfield, Quinnipiac and Niagara. Â

Camryn Dees played a part in all three Rider goals in the win over Saint Peter's. She scored the game winner before tallying assists on the other two en route to MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
- Maslow scored the game-winning goal for the Broncs at Manhattan.Â
- Rider opened MAAC play Sept. 17, when it fell by a 2-1 score at Canisius.Â
- The Broncs opened the season with three-straight road wins at Wagner, Villanova and Delaware State a year after going winless away from Ben Cohen Field. The Broncs followed with an 0-3-2 record, with ties to Temple at home and St. Francis Brooklyn on the road. The Broncs fell at Albany, Fairleigh Dickinson and Canisius in the span.
- The three-game winning streak to open the season was Rider's first since three-straight near the end of the Spring 2021 season (April 3-9 vs. Manhattan, Saint Peter's and Manhattan again in the MAAC Quarterfinals).
- The last time Rider won three-straight road games came in 2016.
- Included in Rodrigues' production was her first-career hat trick at Delaware State and the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Villanova. For her effort on the week, Rodrigues was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29.
- Sciancalepore didn't allow a goal against Villanova and Delaware State, including a seven-save performance against the Wildcats, to earn MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29.

Logan Racine scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the season opener at Wagner and added another tally at Delaware State to sit tied for third on the team with two goals (Dees).
- Six other Broncs have scored single goals, including
Margret Fridriksson,
Hailey Russell and Miranda Elmer, who've also dished out an assist. Â
- Freshman
Leonor Alves has dished out a pair of assists. She was recently called up to the Portugal U19 National Team.
- Freshmen
Margret Fridriksson and Miranda Elmer have each contributed games with a goal and an assist so far this season. Fridrikkson did it in the season opener on Aug. 18 at Wagner en route to MAAC Rookie of the Week honors, while Elmer achieved the feat on Aug. 28 at Delaware State.
- Fellow freshman
Jasmine Sims joined Elmer and Fridriksson in scoring during her collegiate debut at Delaware State, while
Olivia Smith also tallied her first-career goal at St. Francis Brooklyn.
- The Broncs were picked seventh in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll after reaching the MAAC Tournament for the ninth-straight year in 2021. The Broncs received one first-place vote.

Chloe Fisher was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team after leading the Broncs with six goals, four assists and 16 points last season. She also earned All-MAAC Second Team honors. However, she's missed the 2022 season due to injury. Â
- Rodrigues earned 2020-21 MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year
- Rodrigues, Dees and Tait were named team captains prior to the season.
