LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University field hockey midfielder/forward
Julia Divorra (Terrassa, Spain/Vedruna Vall) has been named Northeast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office has announced.
Divorra scored a hat trick in the first quarter of the Broncs' 7-0 win over Merrimack on Monday, including the first goal of the game for the game winner. The goals were the reigning NEC Offensive Player of the Year's first of the season after scoring 15 goals as a sophomore.
In addition, senior defender
Brittany Romanczuk (Washington, NJ/Notre Dame) has been named an NEC Prime Performer, along with Divorra. Romanczuk scored twice and added an assist, while also contributing on defense in a 7-0 shutout of Merrimack on Monday. The two goals and assist eclipse her total from the previous two seasons combined.
Rider returns to action Thursday, April 1, when they face Fairfield in a rematch of the 2019 NEC Championship Game. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Ben Cohen Field.
