Quotes and Notes
"
We were very competitive with them. But that doesn't get you anything at the end of the day. When you're trying to do what we're trying to do as a program and a mid-major, you can't have that. Rutgers the last two years – we lost four overtime matches one year, four one-point matches the other year and it looks like a 33-3 score and it's a lot closer on paper, but that doesn't do you any good. You've got to find a way to win those matches." - Rider Head Coach John Hangey

- Shane Reitsma (Howell, NJ/Howell) and David Szuba (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) made their Rider debuts in tonight's dual against Purdue.
- Rider faced Purdue for the first time since Jan. 3, 2010, tonight's match became just the third meeting between the two teams.
- Purdue now leads the all-time series 2-1, the previous two meetings occurred in 2008 and 2010.
- Having not wrestled since the 2020 MAC Championships, Casey made a statement in his win and return to the mat at 165.
- The Broncs return to action next Saturday, when they host MAC opponent Northern Illinois in Alumni Gym at 7 p.m..
