LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's and women's cross country teams are set to start the 2019 season this Saturday, September 7, in Albany, New York. The Broncs begin their fall campaign with the Siena Invitational at the Crossings at Colonie for the second year in a row.
 
"Preseason has been great and we have had a good vibe around the team," Rider Head Coach 
Bob Hamer said. "We're working really hard and everyone did their work this summer. We're having fun, but everyone has been dedicated and committed to the cause of being great student-athletes."
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2019 BRONCS
- Both the Rider men and the women were picked to finish eighth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
- At last year's MAAC Championship, the Bronc men landed in eighth-place thanks to a pair of runners finishing in the top-30. On the women's side, Rider came in eighth and a pair of runners earned All-MAAC distinction. 
Peri Pavicic finished in 14th to earn All-MAAC honors and 
Teagan Schein-Becker was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.
 
- At the 2018 ECAC/IC4A Cross Country Championship, both Pavicic and Schein-Becker both garnered All-East accolades. On the men's side, 
Danny Daurio was an All-East honoree as well.
 
- The 2019 MAAC Cross Country Championship will take place on Saturday, November 2, at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, New Jersey.
 
- Rider's closest meet to campus this season will once again be in Princeton, New Jersey as the team will take part in Princeton Invitational at Mercer Meadows on Saturday, October 19.
 
- Key returners on the men's side are

Will Spector and 
Scott Ruskan.
 
- Key returners on the women's side are 
Peri Pavicic,

Kristin Siegle and Hailey Arguien.
 
- The Rider men have 13 newcomers this season with 
Robby Arpaio, 
Richie Castaneda, 
Cole Doster, 
Jack Gatti, 
Erik Lopez, Andrwe Nicholasi, 
Dylan Rodriguez, 
Tehj Rollins, 
Brian Spolarich, 
Nick Strain, 
Gobi Thurairajah, 
Joaquin Tianga and 
Leo Zaccaria all joining the squad.
 
- The Rider women have two newcomers this autumn with Oliva de le Torre Coca and 
Angelina Tarabokija joining the team.
