Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Bryant on Senior Day

The Bulldogs edged the Broncs, 158-142

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's swimming and diving team fell to visiting Bryant, 158-142, on Saturday in a dual meet at Coppola Pool.

Prior to the meet, the Broncs (3-5) honored their seniors for their contributions to the program over the last four years.

It was a solid day for the Rider as the team won seven individual events, including both the 1M and 3M diving.

Freshman Kylie McMahon (Annapolis, MD/Saint Mary's) continued to impress for the Broncs during her first year on campus. She finished first overall in three events on Saturday. She won the 200 fly at 2:09.68, the 100 fly with a time of 58.63 and the 200 IM with a mark of 2:11.53.

McMahon wasn't the only first-year Bronc to make a splash on Saturday as Kyra Schwerzler (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) won a pair of events. She finished first in both the 100 breast at 1:07.23 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.06.

Rider was dominant in the diving events. Junior Meg Tomayko (Murfreesboro, TN/Siegel) won the 1M with a score of 270.75. Senior Breanne Hatter (Lincroft, NJ/Middletown HS South) won the 3M with a score of 236.61 and she also finished second in the 1M with a mark of 259.28.

BRONCS BY THE NUMBERS
- The match was the final home meet of the 2018-19 season for the Broncs.
- Rider returns to action next Saturday, January 26, with a road dual meet against Lafayette.
- Sophomore Meagan Fornero finished fourth in the 1M dive with a score of 209.40.
- Amy Rheel was second in the 200 free at 2:01.50.
- Anastasia Aleksandrova was third in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.45.
- Olivia Iswalt finished second in both the 50 free (24.85) and the 100 free (55.61).
- Kayla May was second in the 200 fly (1:55.80), the 200 back (2:09.87) and the 200 IM at 2:11.60.
- Taylor Stalnaker was second in the 100 back and third in the 200 back.
