WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Broncs have a pair of games this weekend, hosting Monmouth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opener for both teams on Friday evening before traveling to square off with regional rival Lock Haven on Sunday afternoon. Friday's tilt with the Hawks will be streamed live on ESPN3.
- Rider has won three of their last four games. At home in 2018, the Broncs are 1-1.
- Last time out, Rider fell to regional foe Villanova, 4-3, in overtime at Ben Cohen Field. The Broncs got goals from Carly Brosioius,
Marion Waterkeyn and
Tess Coorens in the contest. The Broncs are 0-2 this season in overtime and 0-2 in games decided by one goal.
- On Monday, sophomore
Marion Waterkeyn was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week. Rider had a player earn weekly distinction from the league for the second week in a row after classmate
Lena Vandam was tabbed as the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on September 17.
- Watkeyn earned weekly accolades from the league for the first time in her career after leading the Broncs to a 1-1 mark. On the week, she scored three goals and added an assist. In a victory at Hofstra, she scored two goals. Waterkeyn followed that up with a goal and an assist in an overtime setback against Villanova. She has a career-high 16 points (6G, 4A) this season. She has recorded a point in six straight games and in seven of her eight appearances this year.
- In the cage,
Lena Vandam is 4-4 this year with a 2.81 goals-against average, .589 save percentage, 33 saves and a trio of shutouts.
- Junior
Tess Coorens is enjoying a breakout campaign for the Broncs. She leads Rider in goals (7) and points (17). She ranks first in the MAAC with 2.13 points per game and she also leads the conference with seven goals. She has scored in seven of the team's eight games this season. Two of her strikes have come on penalty strokes.
- Freshman
Julia Divorra has made an immediate impact for Rider, scoring five goals and dishing out a team-best six assists thus far. Last week, she had two goals and three assists in a win at Hofstra and an assist versus Villanova.

- As a team, Rider is averaging 3.62 goals per game and nearly nine penalty corners per tilt.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Monmouth, 25-13-3. However, the Hawks have had the advantage of late, winning the last six meetings with the Broncs. During that time, Monmouth has eliminated Rider from the MAAC Tournament three times. Last year, Rider's season came to an end with a 2-0 setback at Monmouth in the MAAC Semifinals.
- Lock Haven leads the all-time series with Rider, 11-4. The Bald Eagles have won two straight versus the Broncs after topping Rider, 1-0 in a penalty shootout in Lawrenceville last year. Neither team was able to break through after 100 minutes of action. The last four meeting between Rider and Lock Haven have been decided by one goal or fewer.
