4x400 Relay Earns All-East Honors for Men's Track & Field at the IC4A Indoor Championships

The quartet finished in seventh on Sunday

BOSTON, MA – The Rider University men's track and field team closed out the 2018 IC4A Championships on Sunday afternoon in the capital city of the Bay State. The Bronc men finished tied for 32nd in the event with two total points.

The highlight of the day for Rider was the seventh-place finish by the 4x400 relay. The quartet of junior Alvin Abraham (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor), senior Brian Calderaro (Massapequa, NY/John F. Kennedy), junior Russell Malko (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and freshman Christian Wiedman (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) earned All-East honors with a time of 3:15.60

"The men closed out the meet with our only All-East performance of the meet," Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer said. "That group has done a really nice job the last few years preparing for this moment and they really took advantage of the opportunity. They are a bunch of guys who have really worked hard to earn this result. I'm really excited for them."

The event marks the end of the indoor season for the Broncs. Rider opens up the outdoor campaign on March 24 at the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia.
