WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Rider University field hockey team secured the No. 2 seed in the MAAC Tournament thanks to posting a 4-1 mark in conference play in 2018. The Broncs clinched the No. 2 seed on Friday, October 26 with a 2-1 road victory at Sacred Heart.
- Rider begins its quest for a MAAC Championship on Friday, November 1, with a tilt versus third-seeded Fairfield at 11:00 am at So Sweet A Cat Field on Monmouth's campus.
- Rider defeated Fairfield, 2-1, in overtime in mid-October in Lawrenceville. In the victory, freshman
Carly Brosious scored both of the Bronc goals, while sophomore goalkeeper
Lena Vandam made 13 saves in the cage. Seven of her stops in the game came in the overtime periods.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Fairfield, 16-6. The Bronc win on October 12 snapped a two-game skid for Rider against the Stags.
- On Monday, a pair of Broncs earned weekly awards from the MAAC. Junior
Tess Coorens was tabbed as the MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week and freshman
Tess van Ommeren was honored as the MAAC Co-Rookie of the Week. Coorens earned weekly accolades for the second time this year and van Ommeren picked up weekly distinction for the first time in her career. Â
- In the cage, sophomore
Lena Vandam is 11-7 with 1.96 goals-against average, 114 saves, a .755 save percentage and four shutouts. During the regular season, she was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week three times and once landed on the Longstretch/NFHCA Division I Weekly Honor Roll. She has made nine or more saves in a game five times this autumn, including setting a new career-high with 15 saves in a 2-1 overtime win at VCU.
- Rider led the MAAC with 50 goals scored this season. The Broncs were tops in the conference with 2.78 goals per game. The Broncs ranked second in the league with 119 corners and were also second in save percentage at .767.
- Freshman
Tess van Ommeren ended the regular season on a high note. She has recorded a point in eight straight games for the Broncs. During that stretch, she has scored four goals and added nine assists as Rider has gone 6-2. van Ommeren leads the team and the MAAC with 11 assists this year.

Tess Coorens has had a breakout year for the Broncs. She leads the team with 12 goals and 27 points. Three of her strikes this year have been game-winners. Coorens is second in the MAAC in goals and she ranks third in the league in both points and defensive saves (4).
- Freshman
Carly Brosious has made an immediate impact this autumn up front for Rider. She has scored 10 goals and added five assists for 25 points. She leads the team and ranks second in the MAAC with five game-winning goals. Her 25 points are tops in the MAAC among first-year players.
- On the back line, senior
Alison Amen has played well for the Broncs. She has recorded three defensive saves this fall. Classmate
Jessica Randazzo has been the heart and soul of the Broncs this season. She has scored one goal and tied a career-high with four assists.

Marion Waterkeyn has been solid on the attack for the Broncs all season. She has set new career-highs in goals (8), assists (5) and points (21) this year.
- Rider has four players that have registered more than 20 points in 2018.
