Broncs Host Saint Peter's Wednesday
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—The Rider University women's soccer team will host Saint Peter's University Wednesday for a 7pm Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game on the Ben Cohen Field.
This will be the 20th meeting between Rider and Saint Peter's in women's soccer and will also be part of the hOURglass Rivalry between Rider, Saint Peter's and Monmouth.
Rider (4-4, 1-1 MAAC) recently won three consecutive games before losing a MAAC game at Marist Saturday. During the three-game winning streak junior goalkeeper Bethany-May Howard (Glastonbury, England/Bridgwater College) compiled three straight shutouts, twice earning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Saint Peter's (2-7, 0-2 MAAC) is coming off of a 4-2 loss to Quinnipiac on Saturday. The Peacocks have lost three of their last four games.
Among common opponents this year, Rider defeated Quinnipiac 2-0. Saint Peters lost to NJIT 5-1 while the Broncs defeated NJIT 1-0. Saint Peter's defeated Delaware State 2-1 while Rider defeated Delaware State 3-0.
Last season Rider defeated Saint Peter's 2-1 in overtime in Jersey City. The last time Saint Peter's came to Rider the Broncs won 3-1.
Rider holds a 15-4 advantage in the series with Saint Peter's that began in 1997.
