LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider women's soccer team (2-7-6, 0-5-4 MAAC) fell to MAAC-leading and conference-unbeaten Fairfield (12-1-2, 7-0-2 MAAC) on Wednesday night at Ben Cohen Field.
The Stags struck early, taking the lead just six minutes in when Alex Darcy found Sam Kersey for the opening goal.
Kersey doubled the advantage 10 minutes later with her second of the night, putting Fairfield ahead 2–0.
Fairfield continued its strong first-half attack, adding two more goals before the break to take a 4–0 lead into halftime.
The Stags outshot the Broncs 17–0 in the opening half.
The visitors capped the scoring in the 79th minute on a strike from Kelly O'Connor to make it 6–0, sealing the win for the conference leaders.
