Women’s Soccer Drops Final Road Match at Siena

LOUDONVILLE, NY — The Rider women's soccer team (2-8-7, 0-6-6 MAAC) came up short on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 3–0 to Siena (8-4-6, 5-3-3 MAAC) as the Broncs looked to play spoiler in the Saints' push for a MAAC Tournament berth.

The Broncs came out on the front foot early, with Ava Ferrie and Tess Ferrie each firing off shots in the opening four minutes that missed just high and wide.

Valgerður Sigurjónsdóttir nearly broke through moments later, forcing a save from the Saints' keeper on a strong attempt just inside the box.

Siena capitalized in the 17th minute when Micaiah Croce found the back of the net to give the home side a 1–0 lead.

At the break, the Saints held a 7–5 edge in total shots and a 3–0 advantage on goal.

Catherine Rogers doubled the lead in the 48th minute, and Abby Daly added a third in the 62nd to seal the result.

Sigurjónsdóttir registered Rider's lone second-half shot in the 74th minute, but Siena controlled much of the possession down the stretch to close out the match.

Quotes and Notes
"The team gave forth a good effort, but we were the second-best team today to a talented and playoff-motivated team like Siena. Injuries and a lack of depth made it challenging to adjust the tactics to what was needed to win today." – Rider Head Coach Drayson Hounsome

- The Broncs move to 12-13-5 all-time against the Saints.
- Eight Broncs — Ashley Moore, Ella Baumgardt, Bethie Morgan, Leah Marcell, Ava Ferrie, Isis Ovares, Sigurjónsdóttir, and Noa Menzing — went the full 90 minutes.

Broncs by the Numbers
- Siena held a 15-6 shot advantage, including a 6-1 edge on goal.
- Tess Ferrie, Ava Ferrie, and Sigurjónsdóttir each tallied two shots, with Sigurjónsdóttir recording the team's lone shot on target.
- Ashley Moore finished with three saves in goal.
