Rider Adds Three

LAWRENCEVILLE—Bob Hamer, head coach of the Rider University cross country and track and field teams has announced the signings of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent (NLIs) to continue their academic and athletic careers in Lawrenceville.

Joining the Broncs in the fall as members of the Rider Class of 2020 will be Lindsay Bauer, Emma Meiczinger and Mackenzie Greenfield.

“We are very pleased to add these three quality ladies to the program,” Hamer said.  “Emma and Mackenzie will be instant impact kids for our cross country team and will help us in track as well while Lindsay gives us a tremendous presence in the jumps while also adding to our sprint depth.  All three are also tremendous students and people and we can't wait to get them on campus in the fall.”

Bauer is a senior at Salisbury, Township High School, in Allentown, Pennsylvania where she won 12 of 13 possible long jump titles as a junior with her only loss a third place showing at the Pennsylvania State Championships.

Bauer also set a Lehigh Valley record for the long jump and had the second farthest jump ever recorded for the entire region and the eighth farthest triple jump in region history while winning the triple jump 11 out of 12 times.

Also as a junior, Bauer captured PIAA District 11 Championships in the long jump and triple jump while finishing second in the 200m and 300m hurdles and she was also the district champion in the 400m.

In her high school career, Bauer has won 81 out of 126 total competitions across all of her events.

A Hamilton, New Jersey native, Meiczinger is a senior right up the road at Steinert High School where she was 20th at the 2015 New Jersey State Cross Country Championships and second at the New Jersey Sectional Championships.

As a junior, Meiczinger was seventh last spring at the New Jersey Sectional Championships in both the 1600m and 3200m.

From Dunmore, Pennsylvania, Greenfield was second in this fall's PIAA District 2 Cross Country Championships before finishing 23rd at the State Championships for Holy Cross High School.  Last spring as a junior, Greenfield was the PIAA District 2 Champion in both the 1600m and 3200m before finishing fifth at the State Championships in the 3200m and seventh in the 1600m.

Rider opens the indoor track and field season at Princeton on December 11.
