Rider at Lions Invitational

            EWING --The Broncs competed at The College of New Jersey Lion Invitational Saturday.

For the Rider women, freshman Jazmine Fenlator (Wayne/Wayne Valley) won the shot put (13.40m).  Sophomore Jennifer Williams (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) placed second in the high jump (1.60m) and 10th in the triple jump (10.58m).

            For the Rider men, freshman Joe Viglione (Garfield) placed fifth in the shot put (14.32m), with junior Adam Kucinski (Erial/Highland Regional) placing sixth in the long jump (6.80m) and ninth in the pole vault (4.20m), freshman Doug Beck (Branchburg/Somerville) placing sixth in the discus (42.40m) and 11th in the shot put (13.30m) and senior Gabriel Gonzalez (Ft. Lee) finishing sixth in the 400m hurdles (57.08).

Junior Alexis Wood (West Milford) placed fifth in the shot put (12.40m), sophomore Krystal Daniels (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) placed sixth in the shot put (11.94m) with sophomore Ashley Miller (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) placing sixth in the triple jump (10.86m) and 10th in the long jump (5.18m).

Junior Clare O'Connell (Altamont, NY) placed seventh in the shot put (11.93m) and 14th in the discus (33.70m) and sophomore Jennifer Marcella (Jackson) placed seventh in the javelin (36.02m). Freshman Katie O'Connor (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) placed eighth in the high jump (1.50m), freshman Danielle Holmes (Hackensack/Academy of Holy Angels) placed eighth in the triple jump (10.76m), freshman Katie Chin (Jackson) placed eighth in the 400m hurdles (1:08.13), sophomore Gerry Sultana (Freehold) placed ninth in the 400m (1:01.60) and 14th in the 200m (26.96), sophomore Mechea Medine (Pittstown/Delaware Valley Regional) placed ninth in the triple jump (10.73m) and freshman Margaret Shipman (Carteret) placed 10th in the shot put (11.17m) and 14th in the javelin (34.34m).

Freshman Michael Colosi (Bayville/Central Regional) placed eighth in the long jump (6.54m) and ninth in the high jump (1.80m), junior Matt Catinella (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) placed eighth in the 800m (1:56.27), freshman Adam Herrel (Roselle/Roselle Catholic) placed eighth in the discus (40.67m), freshman Tim Garvin (Haddon Heights) finished ninth in the high jump (1.80m), senior Bob Broomhead (Absecon/Absegami) placed ninth in the 3k Steeplechase (9:52.93), freshman Tom Tyrrell (Palermo, NJ/Ocean City) finished ninth in the pole vault (4.20m) and freshman Kiel Ridolfino (Crosswicks/No. Burlington Regional) was ninth in the pole vault (4.20m).

Freshman Danny Enck (Lititz, PA/Warwick) finished 10th in the shot put (13.34m), senior Aaron Johnson (Williamstown) was 12th in the discus (38.37m), sophomore Brendon Gildea (Media, PA/Penncrest) placed 14th in the 3k Steeplechase (10:18.42) and sophomore Kyle Casella (Lindenwold/Bishop Eustace) finished 15th in the discus (37.73m).

            Rider hosts the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships May 1-2.
