LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Rider University volleyball team was defeated Saturday evening by Siena, falling 25-21, 25-13, 26-24. The Broncs fall to 1-10 on the season, and 0-2 in Metro play, while the Saints improve to 6-8, and 1-1 in conference play.
 
Trailing 8-4 in the opening set, Rider went on a 5-0 run during the serve of Katie Cook (Stanley, NC/East Lincoln [Robert Morris]), with four different Broncs recording kills during the rally. Tied 18-18, Siena took the lead with a 4-0 run, then both sides swapped points until Siena took the opening set.
 
Rider held a 6-5 lead in the second, when the Saints countered with a 9-1 run, further extending the run to 12-2, and easily taking the set to go up 2-0.
 
In the third, Siena ran out to a 6-1 lead, and later led 18-11 when the Broncs took the lead with a 10-2 run, led by three kills from Maisie Nawrocki (Willoughby, OH/Willoughby South). Tied 23-23, the Broncs got a side out to earn set point, but Siena scored three-straight to win the match.

"We followed up a day of not good enough with another day of not good enough. We had opportunities in set one and didn't execute when we needed to. Then in the third set we fight back to tie it up and take the lead, then we didn't execute out of a time out. We're getting the digs, but we're not converting them into good swings. - Siena extends its lead in the all-time series to 31-23.
- Makenna Mason (Hilton Head Island, SC/Hilton Head) had a team-high 17 assists, giving her 11 matches this season and 88 matches in her career with double digits. She also added 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season and 18^th of her career.
- Simone Langford (Hollywood, FL/Flanagan) led Rider with 14 digs to reach double figures for the seventh time this season and 18^th time in her career.
- Rylah Robinson (Fairfax, VA/Robinson) finished with a career-high 12 digs to reach double digits for the first time this season and second time in her career.

BRONCS BY THE NUMBERS
- The Broncs hit .070 in the match, while the Saints hit .154 as a team.
- Siena had 35 kills to 33 for the Broncs. Molly Rhode (Hortonville, IL/Hortonville) led Rider with nine kills in the match.
- The Broncs had 58 digs to 57 for the Saints.
- Rider held an edge of 9-8 in blocks and Siena had an 8-2 advantage in aces.
