Volleyball Falls to Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Rider University volleyball team was defeated Tuesday evening at Saint Peter's, falling 25-22, 25-16, 25-11. The Broncs fall to 1-11 on the season, and 0-3 in Metro play, while the Peacocks improve to 2-12, and 2-1 in conference play.
 
Down 2-0 in the first, the Broncs took the lead in the set with a 9-2 run, led by a pair of kills from Aubrey Baker (Vestal, NY/Vestal[Merrimack]). The Peacocks immediately countered with a 6-1 run, tying the set at 10-10. Down 12-11, Rider scored four-straight points, including a pair of combo blocks from Molly Rhode (Hortonville, IL/Hortonville) and Rylah Robinson (Fairfax, VA/Robinson). With Rider holding a 19-15 lead, Saint Peter's went on a 7-1 run to take a lead in the set they would not relinquish.
 
Leading 6-5 in set two, Saint Peter's extended its lead with a 7-2 run. Later leading 18-11, the Peacocks used a 5-1 run to put the set out of reach.
 
With Saint Peter's up 10-8 in the third, the Peacocks outscored the Broncs 15-3 to claim the set and the match.

- Rider's lead in the all-time series is cut to 43-22.
- Makenna Mason (Hilton Head Island, SC/Hilton Head) had a team-high 16 assists, giving her 12 matches this season and 89 matches in her career with double digits.
