EASTON, PA – The Rider University field hockey team was defeated Friday night at Lafayette, falling 3-0. The Broncs fall to 0-5 on the season, while the Leopards improve to 4-1.
The Leopards got on the board first midway through the first, after being awarded a penalty stroke. Lafayette would extend the lead with a goal just over two minutes into the second quarter. Late in the second, the Leopards nearly scored again when a shot was deflected and was arcing into the cage, but
Addison McConnell (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) cleared the ball from the goal line to keep the deficit at just two entering the break.
Lafayette would add a goal in the third on a penalty corner before the Rider defense settled in during the final quarter, but the Broncs were unable to find an answer on the offensive end.

We play a really hard non-conference schedule to prepare us for our conference games, and now the kids just have to get the job done."
