EDISON, NJ – The Rider University men's soccer team was selected 13th in the 2026 Metro Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Sacred Heart (156) took poll position in the rankings with seven first place votes followed by Siena (151) in second place, with the Saints receiving four first place votes. Iona (143) and Fairfield (135) were selected in third and fourth places respectively, each receiving a single first place vote. Marist (109) and Quinnipiac (109) ended tied for fifth place while Niagara (84) was selected to finish in seventh. Manhattan (63) landed in eighth place while Mount St. Mary's (58) were picked in ninth, Saint Peter's (54) were picked 10th, and Merrimack (47) were picked in 11th. Canisius (37) and Rider (36) landed in both 12th and 13th respectively.
The Broncs open their 2026 campaign on the road in Harrisonburg, Virginia against James Madison on Thursday, August 20 at 6:00 p.m. before opening their home schedule at Ben Cohen Field on Friday, August 28 against Howard at 7:00 p.m.
