EDISON, NJ — After strong performances at the Rider Invitational, Damere Lassiter and Mamadi Diawara earned MAAC Weekly Honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Diawara collected his first Co-Track Performer of the Week honor after winning the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.41, the third-fastest mark in the MAAC this season, trailing only two fellow Rider athletes. He also anchored the 4x400 relay team to victory in 3:16.89, which ranks second in the MAAC this year.
Lassiter was named MAAC Outdoor Field Performer of the Week following an impressive all-around showing. He won the shot put with a throw of 15.41 meters, captured the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 47.60 meters, and placed third in the discus with another personal best of 43.62 meters. His shot put mark currently ranks first in the MAAC this season.
