Swimming and Diving Hosts Marist on Thursday for Metro Conference Dual Meet

The Rider University men's and women's swimming and diving programs will host Marist on Thursday, October 22, at 5:00 p.m. at Richard A. Coppola Pool in Lawrenceville.
During their last dual meets, the men's team fell to the Iona in New Rochelle on October 10 by a score of 183-117, while the women's team fell to Lehigh at home by a score of 198-96 on Saturday, October 17.
Against Lehigh on Saturday, Lilly Becker opened the win tally for the Broncs in the women's 100-yard breaststroke, placing first with a time of 1:06.36. Campbell Dopler once again swept the women's diving events, scoring 267.98 in the 1-meter event and 243.08 in the 3-meter event for the Broncs. With her score in the 1-meter event, Dopler qualified for the 2027 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
During the men's last dual meet against Iona, Stavros Xantheas opened the meet with a first-place finish in the men's 3-meter diving competition, posting a score of 277.13. Steven Figueroa placed first in the 1-meter event with a score of 254.55. Filippo Sala recorded a first-place finish in the men's 1,000-yard freestyle finals, notching a time of 10:00.26 against the Gaels. In the men's 200-yard butterfly, Luke Mesco posted a time of 1:55.83, placing first in the race while also notching a personal best in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.19.
The Marist men's swimming and diving team fell to Army on Thursday, September 24, by a score of 1,080-705, while the women's team fell to the Black Knights by a score of 1,003-545.
Since 2017, the men's team has compiled a record of 5-3 against Marist, with their last meeting in 2025 ending in a 155-139 win for the Red Foxes in Poughkeepsie. The women's team has a 1-7 record against Marist, also losing in upstate New York in 2025 by a score of 185-109.
