CLEVELAND, OH – The Rider wrestling team checks in at No. 2 in the MAC January rankings with 86.5 points, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
After topping the December rankings, the Broncs slipped one spot behind No. 1 Lock Haven, which leads the conference with 104 points. SIUE sits third with 81 points, followed by George Mason (78.5) and Central Michigan (74) to round out the top five.
Individually, three Broncs continue to pace the conference at their respective weight classes, as
Tyler Klinsky (125),
Elijah Griffin (141), and
Brock Zurawski (197) all remain ranked No. 1.
Klinsky has been dominant, owning the team's lone perfect dual-meet mark at 10–0, an overall record of 14–3, a seven-match winning streak, and five victories over nationally ranked opponents. Griffin leads the squad with a 16–4 overall record, including four wins over ranked competition.
In addition to leading the conference, all three Broncs are ranked nationally at their respective weights, with a fourth Bronc also appearing in the national rankings.
