STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Rider women's track and field team concluded competition at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday afternoon.
Gabrielle Vetere led the way for the Broncs, claiming first place in the pole vault by clearing 3.70 meters. Freshman
Kendall Howe also impressed in the event, earning a third-place finish with a mark of 3.25 meters.
In the 1000 meters,
Olivia Bortz and
Julie Ruskan paced Rider with top-10 performances. Bortz placed seventh with a time of 2:58.15, while Ruskan followed closely in 10th at 2:59.65.

"We made some progress in some areas this week which was good to see. We had a few top ten marks and some other decent performances that will be very competitive in the MAAC.
Gabby had a nice day winning the vault. She has been very consistent this year and she is close to having a nice breakthrough.
Olivia and Julie raced really well in the 1000 meters to earn a pair of top ten marks and then came back to race on the winning 4x800 relay."
