LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's tennis team has been picked third in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll, the league office has announced. The Broncs' women's team has also been picked seventh, a year after both teams qualified for the MAAC Championships.
The men's team took 64 points and a first-place vote in the poll, ranking only behind preseason favorite Fairfield (73 points, 4 first-place votes) and defending-champion Quinnipiac (72 points, 4 first-place votes). The Broncs advanced to the MAAC Championship Match a year ago and are led by 2025 MAAC Masters Champion
Matteus Froberg Dahlin. Froberg Dahlin earned the title and a berth to the ITA Conference Masters Tournament this past Fall. Rider also competed in and won a match at the UTR NIT Championship last May.
The Rider women also qualified for the MAAC Championships in 2024-25, earning a berth for the first time since 2009-10. The Broncs garnered 33 points in the poll. Quinnipiac was named the preseason favorite with 79 points and seven of nine first-place votes.
The Spring season commences for both teams on Jan. 31 at Lehigh.
