EDISON, NJ – Freshman Peter Crespo has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon, after delivering a clutch performance in Rider's series sweep of Fairfield to close out the regular season honors.

The award marks Crespo's second MAAC Rookie of the Week nod this season and comes after a standout showing in Rider's two-game sweep of Fairfield. In a game one thriller tied 1-1 in the 12th inning, the freshman wasted no time—launching the first pitch he saw over the fence for a walk-off home run to lift the Broncs in an extra-innings marathon. He stayed hot in game two, belting another solo shot in the bottom of the second to extend Rider's lead to 5-2.

The top-seeded Broncs begin play at the MAAC Tournament on Thursday at 3 p.m.
