NEW YORK, NY – Day one of the MAAC Championships wrapped up on Saturday evening at the 168th Street Armory, with the men's indoor track and field team leading the standings. The Broncs were highlighted by
Michael Palmer capturing the MAAC title in the high jump.
Josh Burgess secured a third-place finish in the long jump, while
Jayden DuBard earned a runner-up finish in the weight throw.
Steven Bado will represent the Broncs in the 60m final tomorrow after placing fifth in the prelims with a time of 6.87. He also secured a spot in the 200m final, finishing fourth in the prelims.
Matthew Richman and
Naim Benson both qualified for the 400m final, while two Broncs advanced to the 800m final with
Mali Coleman (1:56.27) and
Tamrat Snyder (1:57.40).
Noah Taylor earned a spot in the mile final, clocking a qualifying time of 4:12.61 for a shot at the title.
In field events,
Josh Burgess claimed bronze in the long jump with a mark of 7.03m, while
Jayden DuBard secured a second-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 18.28m.

Palmer was outstanding winning the high jump today. He was so close to clearing one height above but it was a great competition by him.
