BALTIMORE, MD – The Rider University women's swimming and diving team completed day one of competition at the H2ounds Invitational, hosted by Loyola (MD). The Broncs finished the day fifth, scoring 174 points. The host Greyhounds lead the way with 922 points.
To open the day, the team of
Casey Morgan (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.),
Liv Turner-Havira (Archbald, PA/Scranton Prep),
Rachel Hutchins (Elkridge, MD/Annapolis Area Christian School), and
Donja Tripp (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame) swam 1:45.49 to take ninth in the 200-medley relay.
Tripp took fifth in the A-Final of the 50-free, swimming 23.73.
To close out the day,
Megan Smith (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy),
Casey McLaughlin (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey),
Lea Opdyke (Ocala, FL/West Port), and
Sonya Mishakova (Bali, Indonesia/Australian Independent School Bali) combined to swim 7:56.29 in the 800-free relay for eighth.
NOTES & QUOTES
- Smith was 15
th and McLaughlin took 18
th in the B-Final of the 500-free. Opdyke was 20
th in the C-Final.
- Hutchins finished 22
nd and
Chloe Cheevers (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark) was 26
th in the C-Final of the 200-IM.
