Matteus Froberg Dahlin has advanced to the MAAC Masters Tournament Singles Championship with a pair of wins Saturday. Froberg Dahlin defeated Fairfield's Kostas Kollias in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-2, before battling back from down a set to defeat Marist's Ian Layton, 4-6, 6-2, 10-2, in the semifinals. The third-seeded Froberg Dahlin will face fourth-seeded Sviatoslav Koliadynskyi of Siena in Sunday's championship match at 10 a.m. A live stream will be available on ioncourt.com.
Nathan Slattery also competed in the singles draw Saturday, falling to Koliadynskyi in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-7 (0-7), 11-9.
In doubles play, a pair of duos competed, with
Cole Thurgur and
Roger Martinez winning a Round of 16 match against Niagara's Jose Maria Garcia Uribe and Logan Wong, 6-4. Thurgur and Martinez then fell in the quarterfinals to Siena's Emilio Zavala Salinas and Santiago Trujillo Garcia, 7-6 (9-7). Froberg Dahlin and
Axel Engstrom also competed, but were defeated in the Round of 16 by Stefanos Pournaropoulos and Alexi Roy of Mount St. Mary's, 7-6 (7-5).
The 2025 MAAC Masters Tournament is a singles and doubles single-elimination tournament per gender, that will be held on Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Quinnipiac Athletic & Recreation Center in Hamden, Connecticut and at Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts in Fairfield, Connecticut. Quinnipiac University will serve as the host of the tournament for the second straight year and Fairfield University for the first.
