RIVERDALE, NY – The Rider University women's basketball team was defeated Saturday, falling at Manhattan, 81-40. The Broncs fall to 2-10 overall and 0-3 in MAAC play, while the Jaspers improve to 7-6 on the season and 1-3 in league play.
The Jaspers were in control early. Leading 6-5, Manhattan went on a 20-4 run to close out the opening quarter, leading 26-9 after 10 minutes.
Trailing 31-9 in the second, Rider went on a 6-2 run with four points from
Winner Bartholomew (Abuja, Nigeria/Day Secondary School Birgi) as the Broncs later got to within 15 at 35-20 before the Jaspers scored nine-straight points to lead 44-20 at the half.
Camryn Collins (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro) scored five points in the third, but the Jaspers continued to pull away, extending the lead to 65-30 with 10 minutes to play.
Jamia Blake (Rock Hill, SC/South Pointe[UNC Asheville]) scored all four of her points in the fourth quarter.

- Rider shot 20.6% (14-68) from the field, and 14.3% (4-28) from three. The Jaspers shot 53.7% (29-54) from the field and 31.3% (5-16) from three. The Broncs were led by nine points from Bartholomew.
- The Broncs had 10 assists on their 14 made baskets, led by three from
Sanaa Redmond (Philadelphia, PA/The Shipley School[Samford]).
- Manhattan held a 43-36 advantage on the glass, but the Broncs held a 19-11 edge in offensive rebounds. Bartholomew led Rider with six boards.
