DuBard Tops His Own Mark in Men's Weight Throw at Penn Select

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rider men's indoor track and field team started 2025 competing at the Penn Select at the Ott Center on Saturday. Jayden DuBard highlighted the Broncs breaking his own Rider record for Men's Weight Throw for the second time this season.

DuBard's previous school record was 18.60m at the Penn Opener on Dec. 7. At the Penn Select, he threw a 19.11m breaking his own record yet again. DuBard came in second in the event.

Along with DuBard, Damere Lassiter finished in second place in the Men's Shot Put with a distance of 15.46m.

Dallas Hohney also had an impressive day, finishing second place running 1:50.7 in the 800m event.

Quotes and Notes
"We had some strong performances by the men today in several areas. We do have plenty to work on but that is not surprising coming off the holiday break. The foundation is here, we just need to build on it.

It was another big performance by DuBard. He crushed his weight throw record that he set in the last meet. He is on an entirely new level right now. It is a very exciting time for him.

Hohney was outstanding in the 800 today. It was a huge step forward. His training has been great and it was really nice to see his race match that level." – Rider Director of Cross Country, Track & Field Bob Hamer

Up Next
The Broncs are next in action on Jan. 17 when they travel to Staten Island, NY to compete at the NYC Gotham Cup.
