Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey's Winning Streak Stopped at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rider University field hockey team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end Sunday afternoon, falling 4-0 at Drexel. The Broncs drop to 5-4, while the Dragons improve to 6-3.

The Dragons scored the games first goal midway through the second quarter, converting on a transition play to take a 1-0 lead they would take into the break.

The Broncs had their best offensive chance right out the break in the third quarter with Semra Said (Mannheim, Germany/Feudenheim Gymnasium Mannheim) and Lyric Scott (Union, NJ/Union) each getting shots within the first two minutes of the third, but the Drexel defense held strong to keep the Broncs off the board.

The Dragons would quickly respond on the other end scoring twice in the third and adding an insurance goal in the fourth to produce the final score.
