FAIRFAX, VA – The Rider University women's track and field team sits 13th after the opening day of the ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Broncs totaled 10.75 points, while Army West Point leads the meet with 53.75 points.
The Broncs had a strong day in the field, led by
Mariah Stephens (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) and
Olivia Smith (Westhampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) in the long jump. Stephens took third with a leap of 5.80 meters and Smith was eighth with a mark of 5.30 meters, earning both All-East honors.
Gabrielle Vetere (Turnersville, NJ/Washington Township) earned All-East honors in the pole vault, taking seventh after clearing 3.61 meters.
Chika Efobi (Long Branch, NJ/Mater Dei Prep) earned All-East honors in the shot put with a mark of 12.99 meters.
On the track, Stephens qualified for the finals of the 100-hurdles with a time of 14.13 and
Keira Mansure (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington) earned All-East honors in the 5,000 with a time of 17:40.58 for seventh place.
