NEW YORK, NY – The Rider University men's and women's track & field team wrapped up competition at the RU Scarlet Knights Invitational at The Armory Saturday.
On the men's side, the Broncs started off strong in the 3000m, with Richie Castaneda, Adam Mugavero, and Joe Natoli competing and finishing 33rd,34th, and 35th. Castaneda ran the race in a time of 8:53.86. Mugavero finished right behind his teammate in 34th with a time of 8:54.31. Natoil finished 35th at 8:55.03. In the 800m, Ian Smith finished 39th with a time of 2:01.03.
On the women's side, the Broncs got a strong showing from Melissa Aymil in the shot put. Aymil was able to finish 10th with a mark of 10.41m, her new season best.
Finishing up Day 2 for the Broncs in the 800m, Tatiana Nunez ran the 800m and finished 48th in 2:25.9.
