DURHAM, NC – The Rider men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Duke Invitational, while another group opened action at the Bison Invitational on Saturday.
Duke Invitational
Mamadi Diawara and
Matthew Richman paced Rider in the 400m, each turning in strong performances with Diawara clocking a 48.74 and Richman close behind at 48.83.
Camryn Thomas led the way in the 400m hurdles, placing inside the top 10 with a time of 52.58.

We had some good performances in some areas today. Mamadi and Matt ran strong races in the 400 today. They have been making good strides over the last few weeks.
Cam had another strong intermediate hurdle race. He's been very consistent and now we will be looking to make a big jump in the coming weeks.

Bison Invitational
Ethan Peffley turned in a strong performance in the 1500m, recording the fifth-fastest time in program history at 3:48.30.
Santino D'Amelio also etched his name into the record books, posting the eighth-fastest time in program history in the 5000m with a mark of 14:45.32.

"We had a really strong day today. The goal was to capitalize on the strong competition and the weather. The men really stepped up and rose to the occasion.
Ethan had a huge performance in the 1500, setting the #5 time all-time. He always puts himself in the race, and then he always finishes hard. He's having a great year.
The 800 guys had a really nice day. They did a great job of executing the race plan, and it was nice to see Portman set a new PR.
Santino ran a really nice race to finish with the #8 time all-time. He's been working really hard, and he's been very consistent. It was nice to see him have a nice breakthrough."
