PHILADEPHIA, PA – The Rider men's indoor track team opened up the season at the Penn Opener on Saturday at the Ott Center.
The highlight of the day was senior Jayden DuBard, who broke the program record for the Men's Weight Throw with a distance of 18.60m. DuBard surpassed his own record that he previously set in last year's MAAC championships when he threw a 18.45.
The Broncs competed in multiple events throughout the day to get a feel of what the young season will be like.
Quotes and Notes
"Jayden was awesome today. He got two wins and a Rider record. It's exactly the kind of start you want to see a senior standout like him get off to. Really excited to see where his season goes from here.
I thought Damere competed really well in his first meet. Steven Bado put together two great races tonight. He is a mega talent that has put the prices together here and there but right now he's clicking on all cylinders and the sky's the limit for him." – Rider Associate Head Coach of Cross Country, Track & Field Brett Harvey
