RICHMOND, VA – The Rider University women's basketball team was defeated 75-60 Sunday afternoon at VCU. The Broncs fall to 1-4 on the season, while the Rams improve to 3-2.
 
After 
Mariona Cos-Morales (Matadepera, Spain/IES Matadepera[Casper College]) opened the game's scoring, VCU quickly countered with a 12-0 run and the Rams would take lead 22-13 after the opening quarter.
 
Leading 28-17 early in the second, VCU pulled away with a 9-0 run and went into the break leading 40-19.
 
After VCU extended the lead to 46-19, the Broncs responded with a 15-0 run, including seven points from 
Gabby Turco (Wildwood, NJ/Wildwood Crest[Saint Anselm/La Salle]) to trim the lead to 46-34 and moments later the Broncs would get to within 10 at 50-40. The Rams would have another answer however, scored four-straight points to finish the third quarter ahead 54-40 before opening the fourth on a 12-2 run to push the lead to 24.
 
Down 68-44, the Broncs made one final push with a 9-0 run, including four points from 
Camryn Collins (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro), but the comeback effort would run out of time.

- Rider shot 46.8% (22-47) from the field, and 42.9% (6-14) from three. The Rams shot 54.2% (26-48) from the field and 54.5% (6-11) from three.
- The Broncs had 11 assists on their 22 made baskets, led by two from 
Kaylan Deveney (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy).
- VCU outrebounded Rider 38-14, including an 11-0 edge in offensive boards. 
Emilee Tahata (Springfield, Australia/Woodcrest State College[La Salle]) had three rebounds to lead the Broncs.
