Wrestling Cruises Past Bloomsburg 42-3 on Senior Day

Rider scores 7 bonus point victories on Senior Day

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J- The Rider University Wrestling team dominated Bloomsburg taking 9 of 10 bouts en route to a 42-3 win on Sunday afternoon. With the win, Rider moves to 5-5 and 5-0 in the Mid-American and Bloomsburg falls to 4-11 and 0-5 in the MAC. 

Rider started off the dual with a bang as Tyler Klinsky continued his bonus point ways scoring his 10th win of the season, his ninth bonus point decision, and his first pin of the campaign. Klinsky dominated the first and second periods scoring back points throughout. Kilnsky wrapped things up with a second-period pin over Bronson Garber.

Richie Koehler followed the path set by Klinsky by dominating Major Lewis to a 17-1 tech fall. For Koehler, it is his fourth straight victory and keeps him undefeated in MAC duals at 4-0. After the Koehler win Rider won the next three bouts as #27 Quinn Kinner and #29 Colton Washleski bout scored victories at 149 and 157 and Will Betancourt picked up a forfeit at 141.

Kinner got back on track following a loss two nights prior vs Lock Haven with a massive tech fall 17-1 over Nikolas Antonelli. For Kinner, it is his second tech fall in his last three matches and his fourth bonus point victory of the season.

Rider rounded out their final two bouts of the night just as dominant as they started with a pair of tech falls by #31 David Szuba and Azeem Bell

Azeem Bell had his best performance of the year on Senior Day, as the Wilmington native scored his first career tech fall taking down David Tuttle 21-4.
