Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA – Following a just over two-hour delay due to lightning in the area, the Broncs took a lead, but ultimately fell 3-1 at Drexel Friday night. The Broncs fall to 1-4 on the season, while the Dragons improve to 4-1.

The Dragons controlled play in the opening half, but the Broncs defense held tough keeping the game scoreless through 30 minutes.

Semra Said (Mannheim, Germany/Feudenheim Gymnasium Mannheim) opened the scoring halfway through the third. Said forced a turnover in the circle and made a reverse chip that got over the goalie and found the cage to put Rider up 1-0.

The Dragons had the immediate response scoring off a penalty corner less than a minute later. Drexel would take the lead with a goal late in the quarter.

In the fourth, the Dragons would score an insurance goal off another corner to produce the final score.
