Women's Basketball Announces Five-Game Home Non-Conference Slate

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider head women's basketball coach Lynn Milligan has announced the team's home non-conference schedule Tuesday. For 2023-24, the Broncs non-conference schedule features five home contests, including an exhibition against cross-town TCNJ.
 
Television information and start times will be announced at a later date.

Last Meeting: Rider, 70-45 (Nov. 2, 2022; Lawrenceville, NJ)
2022-23 Record: 17-10 (11-7 NJAC)
Quickly: Four Broncs scored in double figures, led by 16 from Makayla Firebaugh as Rider won their sixth-straight season-opening exhibition over the Lions to kick off the 2022-23 season.
 
Merrimack

Quickly: The Warriors are now in their fifth season since reclassifying from Division II. Merrimack returns two of its three leading scorers from a season ago in graduate students Jayme DeCesare and Kaylee Thomas, who each averaged double figures last year.

Quickly: The Broncs and Terriers will meet for the first-time ever when they meet in Alumni Gym this season. The Terriers fell in the Patriot League championship game last season, 66-61, to Holy Cross, before being topped by Rhode Island in the first round of the WNIT.
 
La Salle

2022-23 Record: 17-14 (8-7 A-10)
Quickly: The last meeting between these teams saw Rider erase an 18-point halftime deficit to force overtime, but La Salle opened the extra five minutes with a 15-2 run that secured the victory. Lenaejha Evans scored a then career-high 20 points, including 18 in the second half and overtime of that game.

Monmouth

Last Meeting: Rider, 51-41 (Feb. 17, 2022; Lawrenceville, NJ)
2022-23 Record: 18-16 (9-9 CAA)
Quickly: Rider and Monmouth last met two seasons ago when the Broncs took out their former MAAC rivals behind 14 points and four assists from Makayla Firebaugh. The Hawks left the MAAC for the CAA and in their first season in the new conference won four-straight games in the CAA Tournament to win the conference title as the seven-seed. The Hawks season came to an end with a loss to Tennessee Tech in the NCAA First Four.
