This year the Raise Your Game Challenge raised $385,784 from alumni, parents, and friends for our athletic teams. Of the funds raised, $110,324 was contributed by athletic alumni. In total, there were 1,448 donors, 521 of which were former Rider athletes. Rider Athletics raised an additional $110,825 for the Gary Taylor Wrestling Center. These funds, raised by wrestling alumni, were in response to a leadership gift of $500,000 made by Tim Morrison '83.
The Challenge is divided into three divisions based on past giving history. In the Cranberry Division, the
wrestling team ran away with the title. The Broncs Division was won by the
softball team, while the
baseball team and
field hockey team shared the title in the Rider Division.
The
softball, wrestling, men's soccer, women's soccer and field hockey programs exceeded their fundraising goals and will receive an additional $1,000 toward their respective program booster accounts. The
women's soccer team and the
tennis team had their best year ever in funds raised, while the
field hockey team had the highest percentage of alumni donors at 39 percent.
The Raise Your Game Challenge, which began in 2010, started with 120 donors and raised $34,934 during its inaugural year. Over the past 13 years our athletic alumni have raised
$1,515,432 in the Raise Your Game Challenge.
