BUFFALO, NY – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team continues to lead the way through three days in their quest of an 11
th-straight title at the MAAC Championships. The Broncs compiled 458 points and lead second-place Niagara, who stands at 419.
In the 100-fly,
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy) swam 49.24,
Jack Ruggieri (Bellmawr, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) touched the wall at 49.70, and
Bobby Irwin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) stopped the clock at 49.75, earning fifth, seventh, and eighth, respectively.
David Cooper (Conroe, TX/Klein Oak) was fourth with a time of 55.01 and
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley) was eighth in 55.82 in the 100-breast.
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) earned the victory in the 100-back, touching the wall at 48.35.
Christian Overton (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) followed in third with a swim of 49.32.
In the diving well,
Marcas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) scored 239.15 for third and
Sean Binning (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) scored 204.70 for eighth on the 3-meter.
The Broncs closed out the day in the 400-medley relay.
Lucas Racevicius, Cooper, Lane, and
Joe Gewartowski (Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin) combined to touch the wall in 3:20.61 for sixth place.
