FAIRFIELD, CT – The Rider University Field Hockey team led early, but ultimately fell, 4-1, at Fairfield Friday afternoon. The Broncs fell to 6-9 on the season, and 3-2 in NEC play. The Stags improve to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in league games.
Willemijn Ephraim (Amsterdam, The Netherlands/Vossius Gymnasium) got the Broncs on the board early in the first, jumping on a loose ball in front of the Stags goal and slipped it by the Fairfield goalie.
The Stags responded with a goal late in the first, two in the second, and one early in the third. All four Fairfield goals came via penalty corners.
