Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls in Overtime at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rider University Field Hockey team tied the game late in the fourth quarter, but ultimately fell in the extra session, 2-1, at Lehigh Sunday afternoon. The Broncs fall to 6-8 on the season, while the Mountain Hawks improve to 9-4.

Lehigh got on the board midway through the second quarter when a backhand shot found its way to the back of the cage.

With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Broncs made the decision to pull the goalie for an extra attacker, and moments later Kiera Guckavan (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) off the restart found Valeria Perales (Madrid, Spain/IES Mirasierra), who made a reverse chip shot that snuck just inside the far post to even the game.

In the extra session, Lehigh had the better of the opportunities and found the winner on a rebound just over three minutes into overtime.
