Marcus Fredrickson earned a singles win, but the Rider University men's tennis team fell at Saint Joseph's, 6-1, Tuesday. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-2, while the Hawks improve to 4-2.
"We came out lacking intensity and I hold them accountable for that." said Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "If we can turn it up we can compete with anyone. The guys just have to believe that. Once we get into the heart of the point and stay patient we give ourselves a chance."
Fredrickson defeated Jack Campbell, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 6 singles. But the Hawks took all three doubles matches and the remaining five singles flights to earn the 6-1 victory.
"We will regroup and prepare for our trip to Georgia. The guys are excited to get back out there knowing what they need to do," said Battaglia.
The Broncs return to action Tuesday, March 15
th when they travel to face Emmanuel College (Ga.).
