Box Score BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Rider University men's tennis team earned a win 5-2, against Bloomsburg, Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Broncs improve to 2-4, while the Huskies fall to 0-5.
The Broncs opened with two victories in the doubles to take the point after
Pablo Salar Carrera and Jamie De Jaraiz Garcia earned a 6-2 win, followed by
Peter Komosinski and
Dylan Lachmanen earning their victory in a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-5).
In the singles, Salar Carrera, Lachmanen,
Marcus Fredrickson and
Nicholas Salazar earned their victories in straight sets to seal the 5-2 victory.
"Better intensity overall," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "We were very gritty in singles, given the cold and windy conditions. We just played smart tennis, hitting to big safe targets and waiting for opportunities. We limited the big mistakes during critical times, and that was basically the key today."
The Broncs return to action Tuesday, March 22
nd when they travel to Queens, NY to face off against the Knights of Queens College. Matches are set to begin at 11 a.m.
