LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ –
David Szuba earned a fall in 1:01 to clinch the Rider University wrestling team's 21-13 win at George Mason, Saturday night to close out the MAC dual schedule. The Broncs improve to 4-8, 4-4 MAC, while the Patriots fall to 9-7, 3-4 MAC.
Rider started with an early lead thanks to
Tyler Klinsky,
Richie Koehler and #25
Quinn Kinner earning a trio of decisions to put the Broncs up 9-0. The Patriots found a way to pump the breaks though, earning a major and a decision to cut the Rider lead to only two.
Michael Wilson and
Corey Connolly stepped up, earning a pair of decisions to extend the gap to 15-7. Unwilling to let the Broncs have an easy victory, George Mason answered back with another pair of decisions at 184 and 197 to again make the Rider lead only two points. With the match coming down to 285, Szuba was determined to secure the win for the Broncs. He made quick work, earning a fall in 1:01 over Mason's Austin Stith to seize the victory, 21-13.
