WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Rider rounded out their first weekend of duals with a 23-13 win over #RV Purdue.
David Szuba was able to seal the Broncs win with a fall in 1:13 over Hayden Copass.With the win over Purdue, the Broncs start 2-0 for the first time since 2019, when they took down Northern Illinois and Minnesota which was also the last time they beat a B1G opponent.
Rider went into the final two bouts tied at 13 with the Boilermakers but
Ethan Laird remained perfect on the weekend scoring a 17-6 major decision win over Hayden Filipovich. Szuba went into the final bout and got the pin in just over a minute.
The Broncs also picked up a big win at 141 where
McKenzie Bell was able to upset #11 Parker Filius by a 9-6 margin.
