BALTIMORE, MD – The Rider University men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Greyhounds Men's Tennis Classic on Sunday, with
Giacomo Ghitti (Brescia, Italy/Marco Polo) and
Vishal Ganeshan (Sydney, Australia/Knox Grammar School) taking fourth place with a 2-1 loss in their compass draw. Ghitti won his singles match against Coppin State's Vansh Kapoor, 7-6 (3), 3-0, retired. But the Broncs' duo fell in doubles, 6-2, while Rishi Jalota defeated Ganeshan, 6-2, 6-2, as the Eagles took third place.
"Very valuable weekend all around," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "We had a lot of growing to do, both mentally and physically, but the foundation has been laid. When they believe in themselves and understand the concepts we are trying to teach, I think we will see tremendous change."
The Broncs return to action Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, when they take part in the Marist Invite.
