PHILADELPHIA AND BALTIMORE, MD – The Rider University men's tennis team competed at ITA Northeast Regionals and the Greyhounds Men's Tennis Classic on Saturday. Dhruv Tangri (Punjab, India/Cambridge International School) and Pablo Salar Carrera (Barcelona, Spain/Cambridge International School) wrapped up play at ITA's, falling to Drexel's Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa, 8-2, in the Round of 16.

At the Greyhounds Men's Tennis Classic, hosted by Loyola, teams from Loyola, Howard and Coppin State again competed in compass draws, with doubles tandems from each team also competing in singles matches against the other team's duos. Giacomo Ghitti (Brescia, Italy/Marco Polo) and Vishal Ganeshan (Sydney, Australia/Knox Grammar School) won their second-round matches against Howard's Daniel Dunac and Pierce Westbrook, 3-0, before falling to Loyola's Matt Cardano and Ryan Boland, 2-1, in the semifinals. Ghitti earned a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7, victory over Dunac, while Ganeshan got past Westbrook in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. The duo earned a 6-4 doubles victory over the Howard duo. Against Loyola, Ganeshan was up a set when Boland retired. But Loyola won the doubles point and got a 6-0, 6-4, victory from Cardano over Ghitti to end the Broncs' duo's tournament run.

Jake Grimes (Atlanta, GA/Johnson Ferry Christian Academy) and Dylan Lachmanen (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) also competed in the main draw Saturday, but fell to Coppin State's Vansh Kapoor and Rishi Jalota, 3-0. All matches were highly competitive, with doubles being decided by a 7-6 (5) score and Lachmanen falling to Jalota in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 10-5. Grimes also pushed Kapoor throughout in a 7-6 (5), 6-3 singles setback.
